FAQ’s

What Type of wax do you use?

Smooth Touch uses a premium level full synthetic wax, free of pine resin and it is hypoallergenic for sensitive skin types. Our creamy wax is a low temperature wax which is perfect for sensitive and delicate areas.

Can I get waxed while on medications?

It's important to consult with your healthcare provider before getting waxed if you're on certain medications. Some medications, like Accutane or certain antibiotics, can make your skin more sensitive and prone to irritation or injury during waxing. Always inform your esthetician about any medications you're taking to ensure the safest and most effective treatment.

How do I prepare for my waxing appointment?

To get the best results, make sure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long, about the length of a grain of rice. Exfoliate the area gently a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. On the day of your waxing, avoid applying lotions, oils, or creams to the area. If you’re nervous about pain, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment. Most importantly, relax—I've got you covered!

What’s the difference between a Bikini Full and a Brazilian?

The key difference between a Bikini Full and a Brazilian is that the Brazilian includes the butt strip. Both services are fully customizable, allowing you to choose whether to leave a landing strip or go completely bare—whatever suits your preference. The butt strip area tends to be less sensitive than the areas waxed during a Bikini Full. For a complete clean-up of all intimate areas, I recommend opting for the full Brazilian.

Should I trim the hair before coming in?

I recommend avoiding trimming before your appointment. Trimming at home could result in hair being too short, which may affect the effectiveness of your waxing. It's best to let the hair grow to the ideal length (1/4 in or length of a grain of rice) for optimal results. If the hair is too short, we will have to reschedule once the hair is long enough to be waxed.

How often Should I be Waxing?

Hair growth patterns vary from person to person. On average, body waxing services are recommended every 4 weeks. However, this can differ based on your individual hair growth rate and how long you’ve been waxing. I’ll assess your hair growth at each appointment and adjust your waxing schedule as needed to ensure the best results.

Can I wax on my mensural cycle?

Absolutely! It’s perfectly normal to get waxed during your cycle. Just ensure you’re wearing a tampon during the service. If you feel uncomfortable, we can certainly reschedule your appointment in advance.

Can I wax during my pregnancy?

You can definitely continue waxing throughout your pregnancy up until your due date, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
